Bochum, April 17, 2018 – With this quarter’s major new BIC Cloud 4.0 release, GBTEC Software + Consulting AG has launched another update to its Cloud software. The updated version comes with wide-ranging innovations and improved details to further streamline modeling, analysis, and optimization of business processes. The improvements increase the positive user experience and acceptance of the BPM software within the company significally.
Intelligent Quick Modeling
A major new feature in BIC Cloud 4.0 is its intelligent quick modeling. The new release reduces the number of repetitive steps users have to make. For instance, during object modeling, local occurrences of the same type will be suggested, since these are frequently used as resources. During object creation, the Edit mode will now launch automatically. The user can then accept the system’s intelligent recommendations or, alternatively, create new recommendations simply by entering them. In the new release, the editor has also been expanded with a dynamic navigation bar that generates an interactive overview of the diagram and enables functions such as full-screen view or adjustment of the zoom level. To permit optimal analysis and improvements to existing processes, version 4.0 comes with a simulation component. This enables the precise planning of time, costs and resources, including simulation.
Improved Search Functionality
Search terms that have been configured can be now copied, saved, marked as favorites, and shared. This ready access to frequently-used search terms makes the completion of daily tasks much more efficient. Users have the option to create distinct search terms that will then consistently provide updated results for targeted pre-defined content. In addition, file content may also be included in searches and the following formats are now searchable: PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX. To further refine search results, an implicit wildcard search is also being introduced. With this feature, the first few characters of a word, syllable, or series of numbers or symbols will be automatically completed by the program, ensuring that plural forms are also included in the results and making it unnecessary to fully type out long phrases.
Intuitive Attribute Navigation
Data properties are identified through attributes. The recording, output, and analysis of attributes have undergone still more improvement. For instance, it is now possible to click on the "attribute chips" to gain an interactive view of the details for the objects behind each of the attribute chips, allowing users to easily and intuitively navigate through the attributes. This feature is especially useful to users who are using the diagram profile or diagram matrix views. With just a click of the mouse, the desired information for the selected resource can be assessed.
Additional attributes can now also be attached to the corresponding symbols in the diagram. This helps to ensure that BIC Cloud BPM-Suite users do not overlook essential information, since the attributes will be displayed directly in front of them. BIC Cloud 4.0 also comes with a broad range of other new features for simplifying the maintenance and assessment of attributes. The new features included in GBTEC’s latest software release make it once again evident that the company is clearly focused on positive user experience and efficiency.
Data Exchange for Improved Efficiency
Diagrams can be both exported and imported and the user-friendly back-up function is now available to end-users. Users can now easily and selectively import and export diagrams and repositories. In the process, a compressed XML format will be entered and produced. In addition, BPMN diagrams can also be exported in conformance with the BPMN 2.0 Object Management Group (OMG) standard. This provides optimal support for data migration and exchange in the BIC Cloud.
Editors and Catalogs
In the new release, rejected catalog entries will be deleted and replaced with an alternative selected by the user. This means that during this process the program will never create a hole in the model and the editor will aid in establishing a consistent process landscape. Since a notification can be sent to the creator prior to rejection of a proposed catalog entry, this will also promote collaboration between the various users. Now, too, an additional notification will be sent when a diagram that has been marked as a favorite is altered due to adjustments to an associated catalog entry.
The Administration dashboard has undergone a major update. It contains a number of new, convenient functions, such as method management, language administration, and the creation of a modeling and workspace catalog. For those managing large user volumes, intelligent filtering mechanisms significantly improve transparency.
For customers using the on-premise version of BIC Cloud, GBTEC offers efficient and affordable update options as a part of their application service agreement.
