New in September 2016: ISO 37001 for anti-bribery management systems
The fight against corruption has been ongoing for thousands of years. The term “corruptio”, in fact, dates back to the Roman Empire. Today, bribery is deeply rooted in all aspects of business and politics. It results in a parallel, black economy that distorts competition and hampers economic growth. The new global standard ISO 37001 will quickly establish itself to help win the battle against corruption and bribery once and for all.
Experts from almost 200 countries worked on the committee that defined ISO 37001. In 10 chapters and a comprehensive attachment, it outlines the requirements for developing, implementing, maintaining, auditing and improving a compliance management system to fight bribery and corruption.
The anti-bribery management system can run standalone or as part of an integrated compliance management system. This standard can be used in combination with ISO 19600, IDW 980 and other standards for management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, ISO 26000 and ISO 31000.
